## What is a ChatGPT workshop and what do you actually learn?
A ChatGPT workshop is a short, practical training in which you learn to work with ChatGPT: OpenAI's AI chatbot that understands and generates text. The goal is not to know what AI is, but to do something useful with it on your next working day.
A good workshop centres on three skills. The first is writing prompts: how to phrase an instruction so you get a usable answer instead of a vague story. You learn to give context, assign a role, use examples and steer step by step. The second is automating your own work: drafting emails, summarising reports, rewriting texts, organising data, working out ideas. Not in theory, but using your own tasks as practice material. The third skill is skipped most often and is perhaps the most important: safety boundaries and data use. What you may and may not put into ChatGPT, what happens to your input, and how to keep sensitive company data from ending up with a US provider.
Master these three things and you get real time savings from ChatGPT. Get only a tour and you will have forgotten it within a week.
What sets a good ChatGPT workshop apart from a bad one
The difference is not in the slides. It is in whether, by the end of the day, you can do part of your own work faster.
A weak workshop is a demo show. The trainer shows impressive examples, everyone nods, and nobody opens ChatGPT themselves. You leave with a good feeling and zero new habits. Recognisable signs: lots of generic examples (a poem about a cat, a travel plan for Rome), little room to type yourself, and not a single question about what you actually do in your job.
A strong workshop reverses the ratio. You work on your own tasks: that one recurring email, the report you produce every month, the customer questions that are always the same. The trainer looks over your shoulder, corrects your prompts and lets you fix the mistake yourself. You go home with prompts tested on your work, not with a handout full of generalities.
Watch the follow-up too. Knowledge you do not apply fades within two weeks. A good provider gives you materials based on your own session and a moment to ask questions later, so the training sticks instead of evaporating.
What does a ChatGPT workshop cost?
The price depends mostly on the format. Broadly, you see two kinds in the market.
Open-enrolment workshops are group sessions you sign up for individually, alongside people from other companies. These often cost between 200 and 600 euro per person per half-day. Cheaper per person, but the content is generic: the trainer cannot possibly address everyone's work.
In-company workshops you book for your own team, on location or online. These often cost 1,000 to 3,000 euro per group, depending on length and how much is tailored. Per participant it gets more favourable as the group grows, and the content fits your own situation better.
At AI Agent we do it differently. There is no classroom ChatGPT group workshop with fixed dates. Instead we offer two things:
- 1-on-1 AI training: a personal 3-hour session via Microsoft Teams, fully focused on your work. Three levels: Basic (349 euro ex VAT), Advanced (449 euro ex VAT) and Specialist (579 euro ex VAT). You get materials based on your own session and a 30-minute follow-up call. See the 1-on-1 AI training.
- Tailored team training via the academy: training built around your team and your processes. On request, without a fixed price list because the content differs per team.

Workshop or 1-on-1 training: which fits you?
Both work, but for different goals. An honest comparison.
Choose a workshop when you want to get a whole team enthusiastic at once. A shared session creates a common starting point, energy and a shared language everyone speaks afterwards. For that first step, to remove the fear of the unknown and get colleagues aligned, a group format is excellent. You accept that the content is broader and more general.
Choose 1-on-1 training when you (or a key person) want to become genuinely productive. All the time goes to your tasks, your pace and your questions. There is no group to account for, so you go deeper and further. Anyone who wants to work measurably faster afterwards gets more out of three hours of personal coaching than out of a half-day in a room with twenty others.
In practice, companies often start with a team session for a broad introduction, then use 1-on-1 tracks for the people who will work with it intensively every day. Not sure what fits your situation? Book a call and we will think along, no obligation.
Beyond ChatGPT: why you look wider in 2026
ChatGPT is a fine starting point, but it is not the whole field. Anyone getting serious with AI in 2026 wants to know what else is out there.
To start with, there is a strong alternative: Claude by Anthropic, which performs at least as well on many business tasks and which many users find more pleasant in tone. If you only know ChatGPT, you are missing half the picture. We explain it in what is Claude.
More important is the step from chatting to AI agents in your workflow. A chat window is handy, but you still have to go to it every time. An AI agent runs inside your processes: it handles incoming email, answers customer questions, keeps your administration up to date, without you typing a prompt each time. That is the difference between a handy tool and a digital worker that takes work off your plate.
A good training shows you that horizon. You learn to use ChatGPT, but you also understand where it stops and what the next step is.
Frequently asked questions
What does a ChatGPT workshop cost on average? Open-enrolment workshops often sit between 200 and 600 euro per person per half-day. In-company workshops for a whole team usually cost 1,000 to 3,000 euro per group. At AI Agent the alternative is 1-on-1 training from 349 euro ex VAT, or tailored team training on request.
Do I need prior knowledge for a ChatGPT workshop? No. A good workshop starts from scratch and works with your own tasks, whatever your level. More important than prior knowledge is bringing a few concrete jobs you want to try AI on, so you practise on your own work straight away.
Is a free ChatGPT account enough to practise? For learning the basics, yes. The free version runs a compact standard model and is fine for practising prompts. If you want the latest GPT models, ChatGPT Plus costs about 20 dollars per month. You do not need to arrange that before a workshop.
Which is better: a group workshop or 1-on-1 training? It depends on your goal. Getting a group enthusiastic and aligned at once: workshop. Becoming genuinely productive yourself with full attention on your work: 1-on-1 training. Many companies combine the two, first a team session and then individual tracks.
Can I put company data into ChatGPT? Be careful here. What you enter goes to a US provider. Sensitive or personal data does not belong there without thought. Handling data safely is a fixed part of any good training, because misuse creates more risk than it delivers value.
